Any Day Now... {St. Louis Maternity Photography}

She is just a week away from her due date.  This photo session was delayed (err, overdue, ahem) but thankfully her little girl decided to stay inside long enough for us to get some pictures.  Even at 41 weeks she is a beautiful momma.  I know she's anxious to meet her daughter but I'm glad we had a chance to capture this time.
Any day now... you'll have that little girl in your arms.  And I'll be a Great Aunt - which is a rather redundant title, I think :)   I know the wait is hard but its definitely worth it.

pieces of me

We've been butting heads.  I can blame it on you being my wild child, or your sudden inability to hear.

I might even blame it on all those new friends you've made in kindergarten.  (I know I sure as heck didn't teach you that attitude. I think.)

I often blame it on the fact that you're a boy and your energy is beyond anything I can comprehend.

But somewhere I know...and I know this from experience...that we will always butt heads because we are very much alike.  And I also know... again from experience... that we will come out on the other side just fine.

That experience I have? I was you; my mom was me.  There's a piece of her in me and you can bet there are pieces of me in you.

You are my afraid to fail;
my let me fix this for you…
You are my timid side;
my easy laugh.

You are my “If I can’t ace it on the first go, I don't want to go for it.”
my eager to please and afraid to disappoint.
You are my child.

And I'm pretty proud of that.

*that* kind of day

You know how it goes... you're just doing your thing; living life; doing what you need to do.

Then someone comes along and starts getting all up in your business.  They make you uncomfortable, or sad, or angry.  Maybe just frustrated.

You can object. perhaps voice an opinion

Then you realize you're voice is small and your words are not heard and you just sort of resign yourself to endure whatever indignity or annoyance has come your way.

Yeah, its that kind of day.  Heck, its been that kind of week for me.  I feel your pain buddy.  Good thing ice cream* has magical soothing powers and tomorrow is another day.

*by ice cream I mean wine... but just for me, not him
